Credit Downgrade

The only shock about the S&P's downgrading of our credit rating is that it did not come sooner. A country that has long since abandoned any fiscal restraint represents a poor investment.

Fortunately, this will forever taint the Obama administration. It might also serve as a wake-up call to roll back the Keynesian lunacy that brought us here, but I'm betting it will motivate Washington to double-down and insist that it has been too mild to this point -- look for more taxes, more spending, more regulation, and more oppression. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results, and America's political class is certifiably insane. Salvation will not come from them, but from you and your immediate community.

UPDATE

What a surprise. The Tea Party -- which is nothing more than a pebble in the boot of the political class -- is being blamed for singlehandedly causing the downgrade. I say take credit for it, regardless of how ludicrous it is to accept responsibility for generations of cancerous spending and borrowing. Paint yourselves as full-fledged radicals who will scuttle the ship of state unless your demands are met. Put the mainstream hype to the test and see if you really can move events as charged. Either you will move them, or the lie will be exposed.
